Moving Train Level Design - The Enoch Operation - Level/Mission Design Project

Updated: Jul 29

This is a presentation of my second-year project for my Mission Design module, I called it The Enoch Operation.

Why did I choose this name? A few reasons:

-It was significant to how the level plays, the train could be considered as a representation of Enoch and the player/player's faction can be considered God. it is a reference to Genesis 5:24(NCV): "Enoch walked with God; one day Enoch could not be found, because God took him.".

It will make more sense when I describe the actual logic behind the level.

-It also was significant to how I got to make this level, as I failed the module the first time because I got sick and couldn't finish it. So, for my colleagues it would have felt like I just disappeared from the year.

The level was made for an university provided base game where an evil alien AI took over Earth and the player is working for a rebel faction that fights against the robots.

The story of the level is as follows:

You (the player that works for the Rebels) will be taking a modern "Flying Banana" (Rail Maintenance) train to get close to "The Enoch" (code name for a former military train controlled by the evil AI). You must get to the locomotive by any means necessary (This includes switching trains and jumping from car to car) and stop it while it is in the tunnel (in the tunnel the tracker used by the AI to follow it loses connection).

I will be attaching parts of my Pre-Production document below:

My three Beauty Shots are all from outside the tunnel, as I didn't want to spoil the tunnel surprise my level has:

And here is the play Playtrough:
